Grow Your Own Tree Event

May 14, 2022 | 1pm-4pm

Volunteers are needed to help facilitate our seed germination activity and engage with our community. Join Friends of the Rainforest at the Thomas Dunn Learning Center and learn how to plant your own tree seeds. Free germination kits (courtesy of One Tree Planted) will be provided (while supplies last).

Educator Volunteer


This volunteer opportunity is for Thursdays and Fridays during the school year, with opportunities over the Summer.  Volunteers will learn about rainforest ecology and co-teach virtual or in-person lessons for local schools alongside Friends of the Rainforest staff. Lesson topics include tropical birds, plants and insects, cultural history, and sustainability.


SciFest: The Great Outdoors Expo

May 21, 2022 | 9:30am-4:30pm

We are looking for volunteers to join us and help host our table, facilitate activities and connect with other STEM enthusiasts in our community. SciFest is a series of expos designed to connect families and visitors of all ages with experts and professionals in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math.


Administrative Volunteer


Friends of the Rainforest is looking for volunteers who would like to assist with day-to-day office operations. This role can be suited to your skills and goals, and the schedule can be as flexible as you need. A great way for high school or college students to build up their resumes, or just a nice way to spend some of your free time!
